Is it worth it?

I own a Maverick 88 and im wondering if it's worth it to customize it at all. Im not sure if they make a lot of parts for it...but i've found some already like a folding stock with a pistol grip and a shorter rifled barrell(which by the way im not sure what 'rifled' means) and upgraded sights. But is it worth it to spend any money customizing it or should i spend more money on a better gun and customize that? I know it's not necessary to customize guns, but i find it fun. To upgrade and make it look different from the next guys. Any input is greatly appreciated.

You'd be better with a higher grade gun, like a Remington 870, which has more accessories available for it than all other shotguns combined.

In any case, a rifled shotgun barrel is for shooting sabot type slugs ONLY, NO bird or buck shot, and no standard slugs.

Depending on what you want to do, the Express 18" guns are a good starting point.
These used to be called the Remington Home Defense Model, but are now sold just as the 18" synthetic Express.

The extended magazine model has the best magazine extension on the market as factory equipment.

I agree with Dfarriswheel. I would suggest you TRY a shotgun with a folding stock and pistol grip. I have a feeling once you have tried to fire a couple of shots with it you will get my point. It takes all the fun and controlibility away and to say nothing about the recoil.

If it has the 18.5 inch barrel, leave it as it is if all you want is function. If you want a mad max gun, put the heat guard and all the other stuff. All I would really recommend is a elastic buttstock shell holder and sure fire forend light to had to functional utility.
