That as the finish wears down(high spots), there is still a "layer" of protection underneath? That it "holds" oils in the surface? Is there any difference in the durability with regard to its color(gray, green, black)?
Thanks for the help on the earlier thread. Brian Bilby shows a fully stippled front strap of a BHP on his site(no serial #).
 
VictorLouis, I've seen parkerized guns with wear that seemed to have protection and I've seen them with wear that rusted in the worn areas. There is a limited amount. There is no difference between the colors. George
