Is it safe to buy a Glock 42 now?

From what I've read, there has been a large number of reliability complaints about the initial release of Glock 42, specifically FTF and FTE (and even double feeds). Apparently Glock has introduced at least one set of revisions ("-1") and possibly another set ("-2"). Apparently these have been applied since early summer of this year (2014).

So is it now relatively safe to purchase a Glock 42? Have the new revisions been successful in correcting the reliability issues reported earlier?

I picked up two in the past three months or so. Both have been 110% reliable and trouble free. The one has around 1000 rounds through it now, the other, 3-400 or so. 99% of that, my reloads.

Not that I really looked all that hard, but I hadnt heard that they were having troubles with them, or at least the reports Ive seen, all seemed positive.

I really hadnt planned on getting one at all, and was hoping/waiting for them to come out with one in 9mm. After getting them, and comparing them to my 26's, Id really be surprised if Glock even bothers. The 42 is basically the same size as the 26, just a tad thinner. That little bit in thickness is nothing to me, and certainly not worth losing the extra rounds and larger mag compatibility.

There is a noticeable difference in the construction of the frames between the two guns, and the 42 does look a bit "toyish" compared to the 26. That doesnt seem to affect is function though.

Shooting wise, mine are as accurate as my 9mm models, and at the same distances. Its a very pleasant and soft shooting .380, and very much a Glock in that respect.

If youre into the .380's, Id say have at it. If youre waiting for it in 9mm, my guess would be, dont hold your breath.

I picked up a 42 in late September. I think it was a july or august test fire date. I've got over 300 flawless rounds of multiple brands and types of ammo through it with more to come today.
Mine is marked 1 on the frame. The two mags it came with are marked 01, the two extra mags I bought are original I guess as they're not marked 01 or 02.
Any road, everything works great. It's hands down my most accurate .380.

Naaa. My typing finger (which just happens to be my trigger finger) doubled on the 1 key. :p

I can shoot the 42 so it sounds like it doubles or triples though, and do most of the time. As I do with most of my Glocks. :)

Mine has been absolutely reliable. When you pop the slide off look for a "1" or a "2" on the frame as shown in the pic below

Here's a link to the article where the picture came from if you want to read up a bit on the G42 changes http://looserounds.com/2014/05/10/glock-appears-to-have-made-changes-to-the-g42/

Mine is a "1" which was the latest rev when I purchased it and I haven't had any FTE, FTF or stoppages of any kind....it just keeps chugging away like all my Glocks seem to.
