Ok guys..I seen something from troy that I loved...the m7 upgrade kit...short barrel ar15 upper 7.5 I think..and I wanted to know if I could take the upper and put it on a pistol lower and take the magpul stock it comes with a swap it out on my ar...the kit saves me from having to buy back up sights and its perfect because that is the same exact stock I was going to buy for my stag ar15 rifle with 16 inch barrel....so is it legal for me to get the kit and mix match the stuff or will I just have to take the brownells shaft and peice my stuff together the old fashion way? ..:)

Someone will chime in but I think if you have a complete ar pistol and you have a left over SBR upper it can cause trouble.

If it can be construed in any way to be a short barrelled rifle....

..... and if you don't do the paperwork and pay the tax, and some BATEF(eieio) man will take a break from watching guns walk to Mexico, and use your ignorance of the gun laws to justify his career. Your life will become miserable.

You want to see Government move quickly and efficiently? Deny it (or give the appearance of same) some of the tax money upon which it survives. Either that or publicly question it's reason to exist.......

My suggestion would be to have the pistol lower first, that way there's never a question that you wanted to assemble a non-taxed SBR. What you do with the leftover parts of the kit shouldn't be of concern. The only issue with having both pistol and rifle lowers around is to make sure you never mix those up due to the "once a rifle always a rifle" type rules.

Thanks guys...I appreciate the help,,,and and all of my stuff is legal and legit...my perspective is what's the point of paying 3 grand for something u couldn't take the a range ( without being worried about getting arrested ) and bust some water jugs and talk trash to my friends.....I mean if u cannot enjoy it why have it...:) zombies wont know the difference between a 5.56 with 7.5 barrel or my 16 inch :D...might as well be legal
