i heard on another forum i can buy pistol ammo if its for a long arm, is this true? i am under 21, and was wondering if i could buy ammo for an 1894c
 
Just ask to buy, tell them it's for a rifle if asked. If they don't believe you, offer to bring it in. Only then, after being asked to, show the rifle. This isn't hard, just act reasonable.

If you brought the rifle to Wal-Mart, you'd probably have a lot of problems. If you took it to a gun shop, you'd probably be o.k.

Take this as you may guys but I've been buying ammo since I was 17. Only once was I ever asked for an ID. and that was Wally World. there's a lesson in that....
 
I buy everything from 9mm to 45acp and I always state that it is for a rifle.

I like to state the model of firearm I am using it in, such as "It's for a marlin camp 9 rifle" or something like that.

If you are buying at a walmart I find it best to pay at sporting goods instead of up front.
