Is it a Remington model 11 or Browning?

I have this 12 gauge that I inherited from my father. He had it as long as I can remember and my Uncle borrowed it several times for pheasant hunting. I have been wanting to know more about it for years. I find no manufacturing info on it of any kind. The serial number matches both the barrel and the receiver. As far as I know my father never refinished or reworked it.

I see a K N 3 Full stamped in the barrel. And the serial number of 77XXX but no letters. There is an 8 stamped on the underside of the barrel. There is also a circle on the right side of the barrel but I cannot read what is in it.

Can anyone identify the manufacture and year of this shotgun. I am ordering a new spring and friction ring and associated parts for it as the ones in it was installed incorrectly and are badly worn.

Thanks for the help

With no maker's mark, I suspect it's a knock off. Both Remington and Browning clearly mark their products. Remember, Remington is a gun maker and Browning is a gun importer. Obviously, during WWII, Browning didn't import any guns from FN because of the Nazi occupation.

Could it be an FN A3 (3-Shot)? I believe these had that style of safety inside the trigger guard (rather than the cross-bolt safety). Does the mag tube hold 3 shells rather than 5?

Looks like an Remington pre Model 11. I think at the time they were just called Remington autoloading shotgun.

It holds five shells. I don't think there is an marks on top of the barrel in front of the receiver. I will double check tonight at home.

I'm wondering if it could be a Savage?

Thanks for the input.

I've never seen a Remington, Browning or Savage without their name on it. I would suspect some alteration along the way if there is not a name.

Could it have been a military version or military surplus? The serial numbers between the barrel and receiver match. I haven't look for serial numbers on the bolt, stock or anywhere else

One source I looked at said that the Savage 720 only held four 2-3/4" shells in the tube. TOZ in Russia also made it under license, but something else said the Savage had a cross bolt safety.
