Is compromise good for the country?

Why are our rights compromised away? Why must they give up our rights by being so politically correct and moving toward the middle?

When will someone running for a major office not bend on this issue? The thrid parties are our best chance I suppose. Maybe a true RKBA Senator or Congressman here or there...

Is our country so far gone (to the left) that it is nearly impossible to get a true 2nd Amendment candidate in the highest office in the land? It seems like the NRA has sided with the compromisers and aid in their actions.

Do I need someone who will not stand tall and remain strong on this issue? Do I want to compromise my rights just so we are "getting something accomplished"? What is wrong with saying, "I will not budge on this issue"? So what if they are gridlocked - STOP GIVING OUR RIGHTS AWAY !!

Don't get me wrong, I am an NRA Life member but my contributions go to GOA, SAS, JPFO, and such. Am I the only one who is tired of the compromising? No. So when does it change? By voting? Why can't gunowners in this country unite and vote on the same lines on this one issue? The gummit and it's chirn seem to grow more liberal and anti everyday.

I will agree to do more in the way of educating family, friends, and anyone who listens. To do nothing but whine here and do nothing is meaningless as it appears that is what at least half of the nation is doing.

I did vote and yes I do take it seriously.

Maybe this post is not really intend to get answers to these questions but rather to vent. But Da**it I am mad.

Staying for the moment with legislative bodies: All of them have to allocate a scarce resource--money. The various representatives/senators (or city councilfolks or county commissioners) do not have the funds to meet all the demands of the citizenry. So, they compromise.

With our present system of permanent politicians, who make a career of elected offices--if they can win--compromise becomes a way of life.

At some point, usually "for the good of _______", principles get compromised as well as budgets.

There is a name for this: Human nature. Few wish to stand so firm that they are seen as impediments to "solving problems".

I don't pretend this is THE answer; I do submit it is part of it. To some degree, we're all human.

So our destiny is slavery to the compromise. Why did our Founding Fathers leave England in the first place?

I understand that to compromise is a way of survival for those who want to maintain power and that paycheck in Washington.
Will term limits do the trick?

When does it stop? Or am I wrong here is asking for my rights back - GOD I can't believe I just wrote that. :(

It appears that half the people in our country have no will to fight. Their state of shock responses are compromise or compromise or nothing at all.

I guess this year I will have to donate more money and time to the Libertarian party. I am disgusted that this election has come to the point it has. Why are we the only ones upset about the state of the states?

But on the bright side, isn't al's oldest kinda hot or is it just me? Hey, much better than chelsee. :D

The keystone of our Union is the constitution. It's compromise is what we should fear most. I am beginning to fear we have become individually separated from its mandate of our freedoms to the extent we accept too much erosion on the stone. We live in a dangerous house.

What annoys me is that gun owners compromise, like the '68 GCA, Brady, etc., to give the grabbers what they want, but WE never get anything.

We give, they take, then they call us uncooperative thugs and murderers.

I want something, darn it! I'm sick of compromising what I want to give them part of what they want, and then being told NOT ONLY do I not get what I want, I'm the bad guy for not giving them everything.

wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong

The communistnazis (Marxist Socialists) have come to us (freedom lovers, Constitutionalists) for years, and screamed, "WE WANT GUN CONTROL! YOU REDNECKS ARE UNREASONABLE AND SELFISH AND INSENSITIVE!! YOU MUST COMPROMISE!"

So, we "rednecks" not wanting to be viewed as selfish and unreasonalble, have "compromised" almost all of our Rights away.

The dictionary definition of "compromise" is that two parties come together to reach an agreement in which BOTH (!!!!!!) parties give up something.

We say, "Uhhhh, okay, uhhh, what are you communistnazis going to give up?" They scream, "Nothing, you g.d. rednecks! That's the nature of compromise!"

The communistnazis have NEVER given up anything! WE give up, a little more each time, time after time, our RIGHTS!

The correct word for what we do, and of what is demanded of us by the communistnazis is "CAPITUALTE." We are very good at capitulation.

I agree once again. We have been saying what we have lately, for years.

At what point do we turn and put the horse out before the cart again?

When have we REALLY had enough? Life as we know it is forever changed and we just kepp on keepin' on. Do we just continue to shut our mounths and bow our heads when we get a chance to confront the issue and vote a pro RKBA candidate?

Ladies and gentlemen we again must wake up and realize what is going on. Our country is being ripped apart by those certainly within and probably outside our borders. Silently in the name of peace and CAPITULATION(thanks Jay) - "can't we all just get along?" The question is again how much do we continue to take in the name of freedom? It's become PC to not be a man and fight. We must not upset those that disagree on our ugly 2nd Amendment. After it is today and that was then and we must think of the "children".

I have even read somewhere on these forums that someone said that there are more important issues at hand than the battle for the 2nd Amendment. What ?!!
I do not have children and am not married so I can easilly say that the most important issue in any election is the battle over preserving the 2nd Amendment. How can a gun owner not be on this side of the vote? Hell, how can an American Citizen NOT?
The situation is grave friends.

The line has been breeched long ago. We built them a bridge on CAPITULATION(I can't stop). The camel's nose is no longer under the edge of the tent he is in our recliner. I am afraid that we are becoming what they want us to be - peasants. "We're sorry please don't think we are bad people because we want to fight for our rights".

I need to go relax and take a breather.
