Is Civil War Really That Far Off?

Our country seems divided so much nowadays ... Anybody else live in one of those 30 or so rural states that Bush took, and feel like we're being wagged around by a few states with lots of character-less city folks with all the electoral power? Anybody else feel like going over to California and kicking some whiny liberal's @$$ right now? (preferably one of those Baldwin idiots). I'm getting a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach about the "culture war" we are in over the gun issue, and wonder just how much cheating and corruption people would actually tolerate, say if Gore steals the show, before acting ...

Your thoughts welcome.

No, I don't think it is.. and I live in Georgia. We barely pulled Bush here..

But I just have to wonder.. if the media can demonize a Church in Texas and the feds can slaughter 'em all.. (and nobody cares much) then perhaps we ain't got much of a chance.. Seein' as how many people ACTUALLY voted for Gore. (Heaven Forbid)

Munro Williams,

America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the fatherless."

Claire Wolfe.

Note: I editted the last word in the quote. Just think of another word for fatherless. :) I'm a christian and wouldn't want to post poor language. :)

MP Freeman,

Thanks a bunch!

If we can get Alan Keyes to least cabinet level, preferably President, we wouldn't have to talk about grim things like this.

ALARM! ALARM! CIVILIZATION IS IN PERIL! THE BARBARIANS HAVE TAKEN THE GATES!

Munro I agree with you 100% I didn't even see his name when I went to vote.

MP Freeman,
thanks for your prudence in not posting profanity (even though it is a real word with a real dictionary entry that has unfortunately been tainted). A better substitute would have been - illigitimate.
:)

When I read it, I was saying "I remember reading that quote on this forum, but I don't think we were supposed to shoot the orphans"
:D

Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God.
1 Peter 2:16.

If Gore doesn't win on the recount, expect the following:

1. Court challenges and counter-challenges in Florida and elsewhere, leaving the election in limbo indefinately.

2. Justice dept. intervention in the election process in Florida and possibly elsewhere on "civil rights" grounds.

3. Rioting in Florida, including bloody street clashes between black and Cuban groups. Some rioting elsewhere.

4. Federal declaration of emergency, martial law in Florida, at least.

5. Unrest and resistance to Federal regime across nation. Martial law across nation.

6. Gore installed as President by extra-constitutional means. De-facto police state.

This is sort of a worst-case, but all too likely at this point.

Another little thing to worry about is China expoliting instability here by moving against Taiwan.

Not a very good or reasoned solution. A mob, running on instinct, acting-out rage? Instigating that is not a very just or moral solution.

A few small brush fires prevent excess fuels from building up in a forest, preventing devastating forest fires.

How's that for reasoning?

Or we can quote Thomas Jefferson, "The tree of Liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots from time to time"

and it wont' be US instigating the riots. Have a little talk with the Al Sharpton's and Jesse Jackson's of the world. Or just ask Gore to do the honorable thing and accept defeat.

OK, FFYR, now I see where you were coming from. At first I thought you were taking the Al Sharpton position, so to speak. Nor am I prepared to welcome civil strife, as long as "they" start it.

Still, maybe it is our fate to go through some "Jeffersonian" times. If so, God give us victory!
