Is Bush The Worst President Of All Time ?

Bush's only major sin was pissing off a lot of the world and the whole Iraq contraversy. Overall, he's been quite adequite from what I've seen.

Your criteria is...? How about: considered a long shot, a dope way over his head--especially by the major press--, condescended to by his cabinet, asked by his party not to seek re-election after nearly four years of a perceived bungled war in order to maintain control of the White House...

let's see, that was...uh...oh yeah: Lincoln.

Wait a few decades, then ask your question.

He lost my respect when he hung (metaphorically) those reservists who accidentally bombed and killed canadians. At that point I realized he didn't give a damn about the men and women in uniform he sent into harms way. I read into it as "I'm going to send you to war, but if you screw up or make a mistake, you're on your own." Is this the definition of leadership?

Is Bush the worst? I have no idea BUT....

I just went to the link Trip provided regarding the "Clownie" award. I laughed my head off!

Nice! :D

Not by a long shot. Most of the "controversy" is media fabricated. Bush is not the first to authorize domestic spying. Lincoln suspened habeus corpus (sp?) during the Civil War. Rosevelt put the Japenese in work camps. During the Cold War I am sure domestic spying by presidents was the rule, not the exception. Spying on a few people who could be harming American citizens is a small price to pay.

The media focuses on his failures. They all talk about the trouble we have in Iraq, but what about the great strides our guys are taking in Afghanistan? Death tolls are routinely front page news, while all of the nasty things we find out about Sadam during his trial are typicaly on page 2 or 3. We may not have found WMDs, but we have freed a nation from a meglomaniac.

If we judge presidents merely by their faults they all suck. But nobody looks good under a microscope.

They hung themselves "fishing" for medals. There is more to the story than they accidentially dropped bombs. They dropped bombs after claiming they were being engaged with small arms at 13,000-15,000 feet above ground level (AGL) They weren't engaged they were fishing for a DFC and got their asses handed to them instead.

Right now Bush has the Islomofacists running over themselves and blowing each other up. Iran is giving full support those kill happy nuts, and with the help of our hate America first media, hopes you'll beleive the propaganda too!

The Islam terror machine is desperate as hell right now, Bush and our troops know it too. Those killjoys don't have enough money or resources to attack us here because we have tied down in Iraq. Even terror attacks world wide are thinning.

Bummbling Bill Klinton was no master of finances, he stole more money from America the any president, loosened immigration laws so his precious terrorists could walk right in, oh, all in the name of diversity. Well now we have a huge massive social burden to pay for, yes you and me the working stiff. While Bummbling Bill gets paid $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ from the UAE to bad mouth America.

carbiner-
While I am no clinton lover, those are some pretty heavy allegations. Sources? (particularly on the UAE part).

Ban em all Billy just got back from the UAE a few weeks ago, it was reported they paid him 300 grand for one speech.

Baffle em all Bill never lifted a finger to stop Binladen and he did'nt care. He was to busy banning guns.

I have said as well I have lost faith in Bush, but mainly in the money and spending department.

Bush does not suck as president. The liberal media is on a full bore anti-Bush propaganda campaign right now.
Their the ONLY ones who make up all these fake polls.

Report and then poll, lets see how effective our news is.

Dan Rather used to tell his staff at CBS: Lets get em in the right frame of mind!

Brother you better get your history book back out. Bush is a cupcake compared to some of the looser's we have had in the white house in time of war, or National emergency. Does the name Carter ring a bell.

It just blows me away when these liberal news papers make up a new we hate bush POLL, and the people believe it. Bush has done a good job with the deck he was dealt.

I wish some people would just open their eyes and think for themselves.

PROWLER58 where u at? Is yur login workn'? If so post every now and again for the next few days. If this thread starter doesn't win a "Clownie" I don't know what it would take.:D  :D

It took two hundred years to create the American Bureaucracy...
And it seems that everyone thinks Homeland Security should be well established in a couple of years time!

Bush is my President and if "they" had their way, Bush would be judged by a jury of his peers...

...like Ms. Rodham, Biden, Kennedy, Feinstein, Feingold, Carter and Clinton...
Does the name Carter ring a bell?
And Truman and FDR and LBJ.........?

I repeat, "W" is my President!

I am not sure on how to rate this president. I do think he fails on his ability to communicate with us. This does give the opposition ammo. The port deal was poorly explained to the public. Even though the VP is not the same guy, he is part of the administration. His accident while hunting was poorly handled as far as being open about it. The delayed response again gave fuel to the detractors.

Maybe this president is unable to communicate effectively. Maybe his advisors are giving him bum advice. Maybe he is not the most qualified individual to hold the office. But we are being kept in the dark regardless of anyones opinoin of the man. Ronald Reagan he ain't.

W isn't perfect by any means and I don't approve of his spending, the Dubai ports thing, or his handling of illegal immigration but his SCOTUS nominees made up for it all.

Justices Roberts and Alito are just what we need in the courts to bring the Constitution and sovereignty back to the US. I'm tired of liberal idiots deciding that government can take your property and give it to someone else to make money with and looking at laws passed by european lawmakers elected by europeans as a basis for US law.

Some threads get closed because they start well and wander off track.
It honestly distresses me to close this one. The debate is truly refreshing; but the originating post is....well.....something less than intellectually stimulating.

To the extent that most will try to keep on track and respond to the original point(?), nothing good can come of this. Rephrasing for Part Deux would not be discouraged in the least.
Thanks much-
Rich
