Is a Trigger Shoe Beneficial?

Is a trigger shoe worthwhile for my Kel-Tec P-11? If so, it is offered in Smooth or Grooved. Is one better then the other?
Thanks.
MIKE

IMO, it's just one more thing to come loose and jam up the works. My P11 doesn't have such a stiff trigger that it needs a trigger shoe, and there's no change of something coming lose on the trigger and stopping up the works.

i have the grooved one and like it. if it is put on properly, it will not come loose.
definitely improves the P-11 trigger.

Shoe reduces the preceived trigger resistance. Some like em and some think stock triggers are too wide.

Kinda scary on a defensive gun for reason stated by Johnwill.

Too many of the trigger shoes on the market will extend beyond the edges of the trigger guard which sort of negates the TG as the trigger can now catch on the holster or what ever. They are not worth the trouble in MHO.

Put a grooved shoe on my P11 several months ago - made all the difference in the world. Trigger pull feels much better and it seems that I can shoot better groups with it. After several hundred rounds it is still on as tight as when I installed it :D

Some lik'em some don't. Try one and see for yourself. They're cheap.

Personally, on the P-11 I use a smooth one. I like the feel of it.

As far as it causing problems I see it like any thing else on you firearm - if it's put on correctly it has no more chance of failure than your sights falling off or a spring breaking, etc..

I have a smooth one on my P-11 and like it very much. It`s the only gun I`ve ever had a trigger shoe on FWIW. The trigger guard is quite wide so it doesn`t extend outside it at all. While it does improve the percieved trigger pull the main reason I put it on was to get a better trigger finger index, now the joint of the first knuckle fits right at the edge of the shoe when the gun is indexed properly in my hand. This enhanced fit actually helped my fast and point shooting with the P-11. It feels so natural now that Keltecs without a shoe feel funny to me. FWIW it`s been on there for probably 4500rds. or more and it`s no more falling off than the sights, slide release or any other part of the gun. Marcus

Like everyone else sez, for range use only. Leave it off if you're into defensive shooting/carrying. They've been known to work themselves loose and then jam up the trigger - not a good position to be in when your life is on the line.

I like mine. I chose the smooth.

Although I do not have any experience with them on a real gun, I do have them on all my paintball guns. I prefer the smooth one, and would like to point out that I have never had one fall off, or gum up the works. I have probably used them thousands of times through many tens of thousands of rounds and not had a problem. Funny, I had never thought about using them on a real gun. I guess my concern would be the fact that it makes it wider than the guard.

P11 shoe is not as wide as the trigger guard. It made the painful trigger reset go away an dis very much worthwhile, IMO.

I have them on both of my P-11s (even the {gasp} carry gun), and they are excellent.

I have quite a few rounds thru my range gun and it's 'shoe is tight as ever, so no worries about my carry piece.

Why bother? Just tell anyone who asks about it that you're a Phillies prospect and you've got to be ready when the phone call comes. Or if you feel you must carry concealed then just cut the bottem out of your pocket, slip it down and use a little Duct tape (I realize the Duct tape is one more thing to go wrong). This might cause you to be sexually harassed at times but just try to grin and bear it. :)
