IRS Forcing Registration of Handguns

am3, thanx for the heads up! a good way to fight the anti's is by givving support to My favorite senator from new Hampshire BOB SMITH. He is on the Judiciary committe...his website (can be found with a YAHOO search) has links to the official Judiciary site...If people only knew how many anti-gun bills that are out there...only our friends in congress stop these daily assaults! Smith has a "live free or die" PAC fund that is in need of our support... spare as much change as you can...

Read it all carefully it semms to have more to do with registering the manufacture or importation so that federal tax may be collected.

The tax is already being collected from manufacturers and importers. The amendment of 2000 appears to change the definition of handgun from destructive device to a new more specific definition.

This applies to a tax that has been on the books and registration that has been taking place for a long time (1968?). It does not seem to require private citizens to pay a tax and register their ownership.

Thats my read.

Oh well Auntie is calling
