Ironwood FAL Walnut stocks

I recently got the time to finish off my wood stock-pistol grip conversion on my DSA STG-58. When I got these, I bought the unfinished ones. I sanded them down and used a Golden Oak lite colored stain. I then did 3 coats of a good poly with asanding in between. They came out really nice. I like the "tiger strip" look the wood has. I didn't use the forearm pieces as I wanted to keep my bipod on. I think it came out really nice. Gives the rifle alot of character.

Here is my rifle with the new Stock/grip and my DSA top cover mount with one of the russian Kobra red dot sites.....

I got the Kobra with the weaver mount from CDNN. These were the first ones I've seen that way, but I'm sure there will be more to come. Tantal could get them too I bet. I have one on my AK and like it. For the price, it's pretty nice. When I saw these advertised. I got one. They were 125.00 at the time(2-3 months ago).

I like that the Kobra's use regular batteries and are simple yet rugged. Plus the 4 different projection choices you get is nice, rather than just a standard dot recticle like on all of the others.

I recently put a Leupold/Gilmore red dot on my Professional Ordnance Carbon 15(AR) and it too is pretty nice, but not as "military" looking as the Kobra. I have has good luck with these red dots...

Now that is one fine looking SPORTING RIFLE  I mean honestly, when was the last time you saw a BLACK Rifle with nice hardwood furniture? Awesome job and it should be just sorta an UGLY GUN now.

Is there a link on the Kobra? I like what I see of the ACOG Reflex, but I'm currently blowing all my money on recievers and kits. At $125 that seems like a good way to go, I just have never heard of that brand.

Thanks.

Rock, BTW nice rifle, and no I am not cyberstalking (from Assaultnet!)

Does anyone else spend way too much time on firearms related web sites, or is it just me :)

`R-n-G',

Ever thought about going into the `furniture' business?? I'm hoping to pick up a nice FAL in about three weeks and that `furniture' you've got on yours is the perfect `finishing touch'. {BSE GRIN!} (Now... *If* I could just find someone who's done the same thing to a Daewoo DR-200!? {WAN GRIN!} It would make a few eyes bug out. {CHORTLE!})

HOLY COW!

That is one pretty rifle stock you got there and a matching pistol grip and foreend would make it perfect! The striping on that stock is fabulous and would hold its own against a maple long rifle. Congratulations on getting such beautiful furniture for your gun. The beauty of the stock also bespeaks of your skill.
