iron sight installation

well, I snagged a sweet deal on an old Swede at a gun show and I want to put the old iron sights on it. how would a person go about putting them back on?

The iron sights on most if not all Mausers are part of a ring that enshrouds the barrel and is held in place with a set screw and silver solder. Not a job for an amateur.

The original Mauser's did not use silver solder, they used a high lead content SOFT solder.

Silver solder (actually silver braze) melts at temps over 1100 degrees. Mauser's were assembled with a soft solder melting around 450 degrees or less.
