IPSC Match Video

NOTE: This was also posted in the Handguns: GENERAL forum because it is hopefully for anyone who would like to share some of our Handgun fun with those who might be intimidated.

The video below attempts to capture shooting sports from the perspective of a newcomer. Hopefully you can use it to introduce friends and family to shooting in a non-intimidating way. It was a lot of fun to shoot (literally) and edit. Distribute it freely. It was made to advance and aid the community. Grab a delicious beverage and enjoy.

You can go here: PlayfulProgress.com to see it on the YouTube™ channel.

Make sure to set it to 720p for the full screen HD experience.

Excellent.
Thanks for the link.
And the video, of course.
So, what's the deal with owning a handgun for IPSC in Canada?
It must not be as difficult as popularly thought, south of the border.

In Canada one standardized course walks you through laws and safety followed by a test requiring only your memory and common sense. Take a photo. Background check. Done. You can now legally own and use a Handgun.

The differences between long guns and handguns in Canada is mainly where you can use them. Handguns are restricted for use only at gun ranges for most of the population. This is not really an issue as all IPSC matches I've been to were at ranges.

Another difference is that in Canada firearms for self-defense is a legally contentious issue. In summary, the law says you have the right to protect yourself as long as you use the least amount of force reasonable to do so. In practice, most people get charged with Homicide and will need to prove their innocence. That's our deal.

Sorry BC, but they really have to make a similar video of the Level 3 Summer Slam in New Brunswick! Best in Canada so far IMO.

That was an outstanding video! I'm probably an old fart, but I have to say that the choice of music was excellent. It's kind of refreshing to not have to listen to some guy thrashing both his vocal chords and his guitar to within an inch of their lives.

Thanks!
