Shooting in the production division with a .40 caliber weapon, does anyone download their own ammo closer to the 125 power factor for minor scoring?

White box factory ammo:
180 gr. USA Full Metal Jacket has a power factor of 181
And
165 gr. USA Full Metal Jacket - Flat Nose has a power factor of 155

Is a lighter load going to give any advantage? What ammo do other production shooters use in a .40 caliber gun?

Yes it helps, IF your gun will tolerate it. Most shooters that reload are shooting 200 grain bullets at about 130 PF, recoil is VERY flat and VERY fast. The difference between factory 180's and 130PF 200's is dramatic. It is still more 'the indian not the arrow' but using the rules to your advantage isn't a bad thing.

Depending on the temperature and the gun, 165gr Whitebox can make major.

There are many many people shooting Production with minor .40.
