Hello folks, new to posting here but have been lurking for a few months.

Been out of the shooting sport for a long time, 30yrs., and just getting back into it.

Recently acquired a Taurus PT92C from Gun Broker and was pleasantly surprised when it showed up. It was in much better condition than I expected or was shown in the auction pictures. It also came with a TIAGEAR holster that wasn't mentioned in the ad.

So far I haven't had a chance to fire it so hope to get out this week.

Welcome! I was out of the game 55 years, +/-. Almost three years later: 50+ gun purchases, range visits twice a week, have an inventory of 20,000+ rounds of various sizes. One would think I'm trying to catch up.

Enjoy. It's a great hobby.:)

Welcome aboard. I used to shoot a lot back in the 80s and had several pistols. Life got in the way, working, paying bills and taking care of family.

I retired a few years ago and got back into shooting but this time I only have 3 guns. :p

Thanks, Already started assembling reloading equipment and hope to do some lead casting to go along with it.

Welcome aboard. I have heard good things about that model - even folks who otherwise trash Taurus often respect the 92. If you haven't found it yet, the reloading section here at TFL is full of very knowledgeable and helpful folks.

Thanks TailGator, I too have heard and read some good things about the 92's especially the early ones.

Yes I've been thru the reloading section here and have also joined over at castboolits.com so I have been picking up some good information.

Originally I was looking for a Beretta 84f Cheetah until I came across this Taurus. Next will be a Springfield XD Mod2 9mm as that is what the wife has taken a likening to.

Welcome to forum ....and back into the shooting fraternity.

Lots of knowledge around here ....and I hope you have fun with the process, as you get back into it.

There is a lot to the firearms hobby these days .....and all of us that hang around here quite a bit have areas we know something about - and a lot we know nothing about....figuring out where your own focus is, is part of the fun of the hobby in my view.

Thanks BigJimP,

I'm basically a handgunner and enjoyed it greatly years ago. I do miss my old S&W Mod 19. The one thing I have noticed is how much the price of revolvers has gone up since the early 1980's. Now all the new composite autos it is different.

Looking forward to starting reloading again and this time around I'm going to dabble in some casting too. The biggest thing I see today is being able to communicate with other shooters via the internet. Back then I would have never considered casting by own boolits.

Also my wife was never a gun person and didn't like being around them. After many talks I learned it was because she was never exposed to them and just felt uncomfortable with them.. She is a great outdoors person and loves to camp and fish, she can out fish me at times.

After I decided I wanted to start shooting again we talked it thru and has come around. We actually attended a gun show a month ago and she has decided she likes and wants a Springfield XD Mod2 4.0

I still haven't had a chance to get her to a range and fire one but she is excited to do it now.

I'm glad you like your Taurus. I bought mine new in 1990 or so and it has been reliable. Mine is the kind with adjustable sights. It generally outshoots my FiL's surplus Beretta, much to his annoyance. :)
