If you want a book, go to Amazon and look for a copy of "The Shotgun Book" by Jack O'Connor. It's somewhat dated having been written in 1964, but the basics don't change. I found a nice, hardcover copy with a dust jacket for $0.25 not too long ago. Yes, that's right. Twenty-five CENTS, plus about four bucks shipping.
