Introducing myself

Hello everyone, my name is Tucker and I am brand spanking new to BP shooting. So new that my 2 1851 Navy replicas in 44 cal have arrived at my house and I'm still stuck on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. When I ordered them I thought that I would beat them home.
I'm not new to shooting and have a couple of SA revolvers (45 & 22LR/22WM) a few shotguns (12, 20, & 410) and a few rifles (22, 223/5.56, 45LC & 308) also Semi auto hand guns all are 45 ACP. Some I bought and some were hand me downs. One of the 1911 A-1 was given to me by my step-father. It was a tribute to the Pacific campaign during WWII. Since I was in the Marines he thought that I would appreciate it ... and boy do I !!!!
I'm from a small farming community in S.Louisiana where I'm still able to shoot in my back yard but that is slowly changing. It seems that more people want to live in the country now.
I'll be reading up on BP shooting but I'll ask a question if there is something that doesn't make sense to me.
I've rambled on long enough, thanks for y'all time.

Welcome.
I'm only a part time BP enthusiast, but I've never been without at least one.
So, you already are ahead with two.
If you get impatient to see the new arrivals, is it a long swim to shore?

Tucker, welcome! I believe you will learn much here. Probably not from me;), But there are many here to coach ya and steer you in the right direction. The members are very knowledgeable and quite helpful.

Hi Tucker! Welcome!

Make sure to tell us all about shooting them.
For some reason no one here ever gets tired of hearing all about them.
And now we're all looking forward to you getting a chance to shoot them too.
In the meantime try to stick with us and help feed each other fantasies.
Be safe and have fun making smoke! :)

Welcome!

Once you get home and shoot it, you'll never stop. Ever. If the BP gun makers were smart, they'd hand out your first gun for free and then reap the rewards of your addiction!
Read the post at the top of this forum "So you want a BP revolver."
There's tons of good info in there to get you started.
Cheers,

welcome, I got started on black powder guns buying a Pietta 1860 2 yrs ago. Now, 6 revolvers, 2 single shot pistols, and a Hawken rifle later, it's a consuming hobby! I barely even shoot anything I have that uses cartidges anymore, lol! The more ya shoot em, the more ya like em! Plus, there's all the little things you can get into, casting balls, making patches and wads, making powder, leathercrafting, horn making, kit building, the list goes on and on! have fun!

Welcome aboard! You'll enjoy the sport.

You living anyplace near Houma? Lived there myself back in the 80's when I worked offshore. Fond memories of heading to the bar on a saturday AM, grabbing two trash-bags of aluminum beer cans from the garbage, and then going plinking "any old place". Cops would come by and join in the fun now and then. Pick 'em all back up and haul 'em full of holes to the bar garbage in the afternoon and go home. 1000 rounds of .22 was about the norm for a Saturday.
