International Harvester M1 Garand high s/n

Need help with a Garand born on date. I just acquired an IHC Garand s/n 5,410,677. Everywhere I look the IHC s/n's stop at s/n 5,278,245. Barrel is stamped HRA 3-52, bolt is a Springfield 6528287 SA. It's an actual IHC receiver, as it is stamped IHC D6528291 on it’s legs. I know due to manufacturing glitches many IHC Garands were "mixmaters" already when they left the production line but what gives with this later s/n? Currently not at home and thus can't post pic of receiver, but it is the "postage stamp" variety. Will post pic later.

is it possible that all of the documentation refers to the first serial number in that particular batch? if that's the case, yours likely is part of that very last shipment of 5.2m serial numbers.

APOLOGY

I have a HUGE apology to make... when I put that M1 in the safe and recorded it's s/n, I transposed the first two numbers. I hope not to many folks took any time to try and solve this. I do have dyslexia, the type that transposes numbers and letters and have had it all my life. Thus I should have known when things didn't line up, to go back to the safe and look again instead of relying on my initial recording of that s/n. That M1 is s/n 4,510,677.

Again, I apologize to any who spent any time on this. I will be more careful in the future.

5211254 according to Old Guns' S/N look up.
"...on it’s legs..." Isn't the S/N or related to the S/N. It's a drawing number. None of the numbers on M1 Rifle parts have anything to do with the S/N. They're all drawing numbers.
Serial number 4510677 is 1953.

OK T. O'Heir. Birth year 1953, thank you. This IHC, my 12th and probably last Garand, is definitely a mixmaster.

- H&R barrel, HRA 3-52
- Springfield bolt (6528287 SA A11)
- IHC reciever (IHC D6528291-C)
- Springfield op rod (D35382 3 SA)
- Springfield trigger group but with an IHC stamped safety

The barrel is not shot, but definitely saw it's share of rounds... muzzle 2, breech 4.5.
