American Rifleman had an interesting blurb on my Colt Frontier Scout,,,
It's the "I have this old gun" article on the last pages.
Mine is the duotone version like in the picture,,,
It was given to my Mom by my Pop,,,
This was in the summer of 1965.
Me and my two younger brothers tried to wear it out,,,
We ran through a brick of shorts every month for the next several years.
One thing I noticed that interested me was,,,
The author said the barrels were made on Python machinery.
He stated that gave the gun it's high level of accuracy.
I do know that a friend of our family used to borrow the gun quite often,,,
He competed in local matches with it and won many of them,,,
It wasn't that he didn't have handguns of his own,,,
He said he had never shot a finer .22 revolver.
I just found it amusing to finally own one of the guns featured in that article.
Anyone else have one of these little beauties?
