Interarms Walther PPK/S

I've always wanted a PPK. I guess every James Bond fan does. Well, I finally pulled the trigger on this really nice Interarms PPK/S in 380. I know it's not true Bond form, as his was a blued PPK chambered in 32, I really couldn't pass this up. It's in like new condition.

I've read for years how sometimes they can be finicky with ammo. On my first trip to the range I experienced quite a few stovepipes and FTFs with several different types of ammo. I'm considering ordering a replacement recoil spring before my next range trip.

I've also read how these little buggers will sometimes bite the hand that feeds it. Well after my range session it did in fact leave the web of hand a little bloody. I spent about a half hour with some fine grip sand paper and rounded the sharp edges at the rear if the slide. That should remedy some of the slide bite.

Even with the bad experience, I still love the gun. And I will keep it.

I too have always wanted a PPK but I would not settle for a PPK/S inasmuch as they started making PPK's inside the U.S. and circumvented the Gun Control Act. that forbade their import. I would however, accept a stainless steel model even though that is not "James Bondish" either.

While the PPK/S is not "James Bondish", they did, however, fit Daniel Craig with a PPK/S in SkyFall.

I just love the design. It a true classic.

How about some more PPK pictures?

IMO Daniel Craig is the only true successor to the Connery Bond persona. I think unless I get a .32 blued non-S version someday, that even a Bersa is close enough to be a temporary slot filler. Right now I have a Feg PA-63 in .32 and a good imagination.:o

All of mine, both PPK and PPK/S's, drew blood when I shot them. The "points" at the end of the slide just gouged channels out of the web of my hand.

As far as function, my "German" PPK was flawless, my Interarms version had a issues and was replaced by SIG P230's.

I agree, and as much as I like Sean Connery in the role, I think Craig is actually the most realistic Bond so far.

PPK/S

I too just had to have a PPK/S so much that I purchased 2. One I left unfired and the other I still have. It does bite my hand but it is the most accurate of my other .380s at targets. Shooting more than a box of 50 causes discomfort for sure.
The problem I have had is when I put the recoil spring backward on the barrel and the slide would get stuck under the spring. A couple of times after the slide would get stuck back I had no idea why. Anyway I kept the used one and sold the unused one. I carry a 9mm and only with dress clothes do I carry a .380.

My blue ppk was made in 1932 and is in 7.65 cal., mottled brown grips, finger grip mag and a lot of mystique about where it was during the tears 1932--1945. After that it probably came home with a GI ? Maybe it was captured by an oss agent and given to James Bond for his twelfth birthday? Well you got a better story about it? (Actually given to me by a treasured friend)

Nice photos! I own a Walther PPK, PPK/S & TPH, all stainless. I actually love them too much to use. All are in the safe and have only been fired the 1 round from the factory. I bought two BERSA satin nickel pistols for daily use, a .380 & .22lr. These are copies of a PPK/S by a well known company in Argentina, and function well. I am saving up for another stainless new or used PPK to actually carry. The PPK is my favorite of the Walther pistols. I carry a S&W CS 45 daily.

Bersas are a great value. I've also had a Sig Sauer P230 for some time. It's sometimes considered a PPK clone, but it's a little bigger. It shoots amazingly well.

Beautiful guns, those PPK's. I would love to have one just for fun.

BTW, Craig is just a poor imitation of Timothy Dalton...the true Bond heir.

I had the Interarms imported PPK/S in 380 and 22 lr. they were made by Manurhin and imported in the middle 1980's. they were $280 each and I should have kept them both. they were all steel and a very good blued finish. they both shot very well
