Instead of MMM, how about WWW...?

Well, we all know who MMM is/are...

How about the anti-MMM...? Or rather, turning them on their heads with WWW - Women With Weapons. What do you think?

On a related note, a friend in another forum suggested a "bring your female friend/relative to the range day" as an affort to get women interested in shooting and 2nd Amd, etc.

I propose "Women on the Range Day" - WORD... not very catchy, but anyhow, it's the intention that matters :) How many of you have introduced a female friend, neighbor or relative to shooting, gun safety, etc. lately. Some of you do it all the time, I know. Thank you!

Count me in!

Yesterday was "Take Myself To The Range Day". :D Seriously, though, see if your local range has a weekly Ladies Night with free lane rental. Good for bringing friends and getting them interested!

A couple of months ago Christopher II and I introduced a female friend of mine to shooting. She has since applied for her CCW permit.

If I had a local range then maybe I could... :(

caliban - That's great! I was "introduced to shooting" very briefly by a friend of a friend (now my friend, too, of course) fondly known as Edzilla. That was in April. In November, I took a two day ladies only tactical handgun course (y'all've heard me harp on that wonderful experience before;, anybody wants to know more about it, just ask me! AWESOME!). I bought my first handgun on Dec. 5. I applied for my pistol permit (my state's version of CCW/CHL) December 28 and received it on January 4 and have been exercising my RKBA since January 6 (when my first holster arrived!). So, you can say, I'm a newbie to the Nth degree...

re: WWW

Here's a proposed motto (stolen and paraphrased into the feminine from someone else's signature line thingie)

Armed women are citizens.. un-armed women are subjects (and rape targets).

At the GRC one of the speakers strongly recommended local women's plinking teas as a very pro RKBA event

10 women get to gether to chat & shoot 22lr rifles

funny thing, 10 women will tell 100 women about the safe fun they had...

Amelia,
That is a catchy phrase....I like it.

Do your States have "Becoming an Outdoors-Woman" www.uwsp.edu/cnr/bow progams? These are put on by the Division of Wildlife here in Ohio. They are held nation wide. Also the National Wild Turkey Federation has an "Outdoors Woman" program. These are excellent for introducing women to the shooting sports, handguns, rifles and numerous other events.

They help to educate, which needs to be done to show women that guns are not the evil things the liberals make them out to be.

Everyone that belongs to a gun club should check into sponsoring one of these events. Volunteer to help in any way you can.

Amelia,

Be sure to send in your registration form way in advance because these weekends fill up a month or so before the actual event. You will have a great weekend.
