Installing a safe on a slanted concrete floor

Any body discover that the concrete floor they were about to drop a gazillion pound safe on had a slant to it? Since that would result in the door being a pain to deal with (closes on you, or opens too fast). How did you deal with it? What did you make your pedestal out of that was strong enough to hold the safe, but removed the angle?

When they installed my safe in the garage, the guy used heavy-gauge 3"x3" metal shims under a couple of corners to level it. Seems like that's the easiest way to do it. Never a problem in 6 years having it done that way.

You need to keep it off the floor somehow. (Of course level)

If you let it sit flat on the floor the bottom tends to rust very quickly.

My safe was shipped bolted to a pallet. You could always cut the pallet to fit the safe and leave it on that. Just glue some matching carpet to cover the pallet up.
