P PigPen New member Sep 15, 2002 #1 Is a S&W 24 with a 3" barrel sufficent to fire Elmer Keith's load in a .44 spl. Is the recoil manageable (adult male 6' 1" 200lbs.) enough for accurate shots and adequate for "wildlife" of all kinds. PigPen

C C.R.Sam New member Sep 15, 2002 #3 Sumpin to think about... When the .44Mag hit production, Keith dropped the hot .44 special idea. Yeah, your 24 would probably handle a few really hot ones but why batter it when you can get better performance with lower pressures in a .44 Mag. Sam
