Inner frame rails

What are the advantages of inner frame rails? My two favorite pistols (Sig 210 and CZ 97B have inner slide rails). I know accuracy is not affected (people already replied to that thread), but I would like to know what IS affected by using inner slide rails as opposed to outer.

Please list the advantages AND disadvantages.......

Keep out debris

The slide in the frame makes for a tight fit that keeps out mud, sand and debris. This is one reason designs like the CZ75 function in climates from extreme cold to tropical humidity. It also makes for a thinner design. The outside rails add bulk eliminated by inside the rail designs.

I'll also add that it's not just the inner rails, it's inner rails on a steal frame. I also like to think of it like this. My hand grabs the frame and the frame grabs the slide.
With outer rails it's like my hand grabs the frame and the slide grabs the frame and we play tug of war on the frame.
I know I sound like an idiot. -ddt
