I am in waaay over my head on this one! I have inherited an old shotgun. it is engraved on the side of what looks to be R Tomes or maybe even R Comes. I is a side x side double barrell, with the wooden push rod. It also is very ornate with lots of scrollwork on all the metal. On the plate where the name is engraved, is what looks to be reeds with a crane sitting in the reeds and another flying over head. I know it is old, as it was handed down in my family, I am just unsure of the mfr and possible dating on it.

thank you arcticap. i posted there too :) I really appreciate any help! I have a story of how it came to the family, but would like to find out more :)

Double barrel . . . . but single trigger? Obviously some repairs made to the wrist at sometime. I'm not familiar with the name but I'm sure someone out there will be able to help you out. It's nice that you have it and it has been passed down through your family . . . . don't let someone talk you out of it . . . . it's right where it belongs . . . . for you and your family to enjoy and treasure! Good luck! :)

thank you bedbugbilly ;) It is definately staying with me! It has been stolen twice from my dad's house, so I have it now, and it stays in a safe :O)
