Inglis Hi-power upgrade

I have one of the surplus Inglis (Canadian
made) Hi-powers with the tangent sights.
I would like to have the gun upgraded with
better sights and a trigger job.

Replacing the rear sight looks like a
major job since it is milled on the slide.
I'm not aware of any rear sight blade
available with which to replace the
existing one.

Does anyone have experience in upgrading
these old Brownings?

I think one option might be to replace the
entire slide, but don't know if the Inglis
set up with the extractor inside the frame
is compatable with the newer external
extractor frames.

Sport, I don't think you'd have to change the slide. I think there are a couple of sights that could be adapted to the Inglis. I've done trigger work on quite a few. If you like you can e-mail me and we can discuss it further. George
