.38Spl. 4" Brl...SS. Does anyone have any information on this Ruger wheelie?

I'm thinking of buying one almost new, with box & stuff? Is this model still available new? Any info is appreciated... :D

If it was in good shape, and for the right price, $ 250 or under, I would snap it up. An excellent truck, boat, bugout bag, pack or camp gun.

I picked it up this AM for $195.00. It was dirty, the grips were custom garbage, and it was nicked up a little. Very good trigger action. I cleaned it up, and deep sixed the grips.

Later I think I'll take it down, and clean the trigger area, etc...

Thanks for the info folks. One of these days I may be posting a pic, when I get it prettied up some.... :D

You made a great purchase.
I have owned 3 "Six" series Rugers, and just bought my fourth, a Speed Six. The reason these guns were discontinued was Ruger was not making any money on them- they were very high quality, but labor intensive- lots of hand fitting. They are all great revolvers, and the price is right. Buy them now.

(I think I'm a fan.)

Here's a pic. Not a very good one :o . I took off the grips, and the inside was a mess with fluids, and all kinds of crap. I threw them out, and cleaned up that area. I also took down the hammer, and mainspring. Cleaned, and lubed, then ran out of time. Tomorrow I'll take down the cyclinder, trigger, and clean, lube those areas.

Later, I hope to do some SS work, and get rid of all that trash talkin Ruger puts on it's pistols. I just ordered a new set of Hogue grips, and when all is finished, I hope to have some porn to show y'all!!! :D

Ya know liliysdad, I didn't like my SP101, and traded it. I found it to be very tight, heavy recoil, and it came with a factory flaw.

I do like my GP-100, but not near as well as my SW625jm.

The thing that sold me on this Security Six was the balance, and trigger action. Very smooth! The former owner/s didn't take very good care of it though...

I love the 'Six' Series. I have two Security Six revolvers... a 4" and a 6". My 4" is my favorite 'modern' revolver... wonderful trigger, superb accuracy, GREAT strength, easy to disassemble and maintain, and darn good looks, IMO. :)

You didn't mention the price that you're seeing on it. If I didn't have one, I'd go $300... more for a super-clean one. You'll LOVE it!

Congrats on a great gun... a keeper for sure!

I just got an addy for Gun Tests magazine (they claim the sort of independence that Consumer Reports have). This was one of their best buys.

I got the Ruger trash talk off the barrell. I'm not happy with it. It came out shinnier than the rest of the SS finish. I'm still messing with it, and can use suggestions.

I finally got all of the caked on black power spots off, and buffed her up some. The grips should be in next week, and she'll be ready to go. :)

Love your gun, bro... but you're killing me with the No Grips. Why'd ya toss the old ones before you had new ones to replace them? :p

Nasty, very nasty. Like not taking off a sh*tty diaper until new ones arrived a week later. :barf:
