Anybody know any references for Pre-WW2 Colt DA revolvers? I cant seem to find any books on the subject at amazon and other retailers.

The spelling of the author's name for the second book Dfariswheel lists is James Serven. The book is Colt Firearms, Serven Books, Santa Ana, California, 1954.

BTW, if your interest is in pre WWII Colt target revolvers,
there is a Yahoo Group. You can probably get some help here for any pre war Colt, or you can try the Colt Forum, a bbs that is unfornately less than busy.

Serven's book is excellent . I spent many hours as a teen in the '70s reading it over and over . I would recommend it highly .

I think R.L. Wilson's " The Book of Colt Firearms " is more complete . Many color photos as well as serial number / date of mfg info .

I own both and would buy both again .
