Informal Shotgun/Home Defense Ballistic Test!!!

I got a new 12 gauge for Home Defense and we wanted to test out some different ammo and see what might be good to use for Home Defense shooting inside the home. Below you will find several differnt ammo tests, the first will be the shot and the 2nd link will view the result. This was an informal test to check pattern spread and impact damage...I know it would be different on a BG, but it did give me the results I was looking for.

All ammo was shot out of my Mossberg 18 1/2" barrel cylinder bore 12 gauge pump.

1st up is the Remington 2 3/4" #6 Birdshot

Next we changed things up and had a little fun:

Fed. 3" 00 Buck with flite control wad with 3 jugs of water behind jacket:

Results:

Fed. 3" 00 Buck with flite control wad shooting a water heater:
http://s338.photobucket.com/albums/...uns/?action=view&current=Fed3in00fliteWH1.flv

Rem. 3" 000 Buck shooting the water heater:
http://s338.photobucket.com/albums/n408/tedanddirk/Ted/shotguns/?action=view&current=Rem000WH.flv

I liked the Fed. 3" 00 Buck with flite control the best for tighter pattern and best impact, but the 3" shells would stick and not eject like they should even though the gun is chambered in 3". So I have decide to stick with my 2nd choice which is the Hornady 2 3/4" 00 Buck TAP FPD which also uses a flite control wad even though it doesn't say so on the box. And use slugs for back up!
