Got a bad shoulder and a little woman.

Is there such a thing as a reliable 20 gauge autoloader in 18 or 20 inch barrel for self defense to replace my Vang comped 590A1?

Thanks for any information or insight.

I only have experience with Rem 1100 and High Standard (forget the model). Both worked 100% and kicked little but you'd have to buy/modify short barrels for the HS. Rem 1100 is easier to load.

1100. They made and maybe still do make a Special Field model with a 21" bbl. Handles like an M-1 carbine.

A standard 1100 with a shortened bbl will do the job also, don't see many factory bbls in the 18-20" range for the 1100.

I have an 1100 20 gauge youth model 21" bbl and synthetic stock,I added a Choate extended tube and a Hi-Vis front sight. It is very fast and points very quick.Recoil is light, shot to shot splits are very fast. BILLG
