I have had a ithaca m49 22 single shot for a few years and learned to shoot off it. Anyway I just wanted to learn some more about the model and company

The M49 was a single shot based on a copy of a Martini action made by Ithaca. There was also a repeater version of it made. They were configured to look like a lever action rifle due to the popularity of cowboy movies in the mill back then. They were made from 1949 until about 1970 IIRC. They were also private labeled for Sears (Ted Williams Model 40.530430). Fun little guns. They have weak extractors, so be nice to it.

I still have my Ithaca M49 single shot. Blond stock, has a few character marks it didn't have when I got it a LONG time ago. Still love that little rifle, it has killed a pile of stuff, shoots great. Some rifles you never outgrow.:)

I wish I still had mine. It was a fun little rifle.

I still have an Ithaca M66 supersingle shotgun that was a regular break open single shot but with that western look using a '94 style lever to unlock the gun.
