Info on H335

I just came into possession of a can of H335 powder. I've never used or bought this powder so know nothing about it. I checked out the Hodgdon data and related sites but didn't come up with the info I needed to know. I was mostly wondering if it was compatible with 200 grain bullets in the .350 Rem mag, 40 & 45 grain bullets in the .22Hornet, 150 grn and 170 grn bullets in the 30/30. Also much of the info on the sites was too fuzzy for me to read. Any help is appreciated.

You need a good reloading manual. I suggest the Lyman 50th.

I use a lot of H335 in my 223. Without looking in my books, i wouldn’t think it would be a good choice for the 350 Rem Mag.

Hodgdon shows four loads for the 350 using H335, 1 of which is a 200 Hornady bullet; 1 load each in 30-30 for 150 and 170 and no loads for the .22 Hornet

More than one loading source lists H335 30-30 loads. I didn't find any sources besides Hodgdon that lists H335 in the 350 Mag even though it seems to be within the preferred speed range. Perhaps it doesn't work very well in the 350 Mag. H335 is definitely too slow for the 22 Hornet which works only with a fairly narrow range of powders.

H335 is the cannister grade of USGI Surplus WC844

H335 is the cannister grade of USGI Surplus WC844, which is sometimes available.
H335 is the powder used for the 5.56 cartridges in the US armed forces. Every Lot of WC844 was tested, and accepted by US.
The surplus powder is "pull-down", which means it was loaded, stored, disassembled, and the powder is collected.
So, the optimal cartridge for H335 is 223/5.56mm

To avoid possible confusion, H335 is canister grade WC844, and is made new to order for Hodgdon and is not part of the surplus market in any way these days, even though Hodgdon's original business was built on surplus powder. Any WC844 you find surplus will have been bulk grade originally. Bulk grade has a wider target burning rate range than canister grade, like H335, and isn't always close enough to the H335 burn rate range for H335 load data to be valid with it. That has to be determined by lot by the supplier.

WC844 is a faster (less deterrent coating) version of WC846, which was developed for 7.62 NATO. The canister grade is Hodgdon's BL-(C)2. If you look at Hodgdon's data, you will find both achieve about equal velocity in the 350 magnum, with the BL-(C)2 often needing a grain or two more charge to reach that same velocity. This means it fills the case a little better, but not a lot.

H335 would be a reasonable powder in the .30-30, but not the others you list. I use it in the 5.56mm, but would use it in the .30-30 if I didn't have IMR3031 or IMR4198.

30/30= yes(sort of) but 350 RM not really and 22 Hornet not at all.
