I did one years ago, the boy wants to do one so I thought we might get a couple. Anyone have any advice or info on where to buy, quality, etc. I did find an old '51 Navy kit in a pawn shop for $50, looks like it's been around awhile but it's all there and never opened. I looked on line and there doesn't seem to be much out there. Thanks

Brand new the kits don't save that much over buying a new one, although the kit is nice because you can put any kind of finish you want on the barrel without having to strip it down first. So you can give it that nice antiqued brown finish.
I wish they made the kits in steel frame, though w/ light loads that brass frame makes a nice plinker. I think 15 grains 777 out of the 51 navy is not too rough.

well you got me on that one. For some reason I thought all the kits available were brass frame. Not sure where I got that idea, I should have checked Dixie in the first place.
