Info experience with MAS 49/56 ??

I do Not have one but befor you get one make sure to go over to tuco's and check out the info, from what I have read there is almost no one likes the .308 hack job century did on these guns. I have a MAS 36 bolt and the 7.5 is just fine (note the bullet is really 7.62 the french just measure differntly that everybody else)
 
7.62 x what? Is the ammo commonly available? I saw some in an add in Gunlist for 15 rounds for $8.00. that really sucks compared to .308...
