Inexpensive, "high-tech" 9mm pistols?

Decided I need a 9mm to go between my .45 and my .22. But since both of my current guns are rather low-tech (they haven't changed design in, say, 50-90 years), I want to get something that benefits from modern advances (a la Glock, SIG, HK, et al).

I was going to get a CZ 75B before I decided to get something more space-age. I like the CZ because it manages to do most of what, say, a Beretta 92 can do at $200 less. Is there an equivalent out there that can do most of what, say, a full-size Glock or Sig can do at $200 less? I've never been into brand names anyway... Thanks.

With one face you said you want
a " High Tec". But with your other
face you want Cheap or $200 less.
You want your cake and eat it too.
If you can really make up your mind, take a look at Beretta's
real mod looking Mo.9000.It's got a
Plastic frame like some other
"tupper-ware" like guns .I am a big
Beretta Fan except for this 9000 gun
It has a shape and a look like
no other Beretta Gun.I can't take it
It comes in 9mm and 40sw.I think it
would make a good CCW gun.
The lock-up has a tilting barrel
like a 1911,and also has a lockblock
like a M-92 for goodness sake .
I think they made this gun for you.

I am a fan of the Glock 19 for 9mm BUT, I am pleasantly surprised at the relative accuracy the fine reliability the light weight the small size and the cheap price of the Keltec P-11. And the Keltec is only a little over $200.

The HS2000 is an excellent choice. Like it was said before, look for one quickly before they can't be found at that low price. I just bought my second one, both for less than $300.00. I'm not going to get into comparisons, but I will say that IMO it can hold it's own with any factory made handgun on the market. It is a quality piece.

heres somthing different to consider, the heritage stealth

it is a small 9mm (or .40) w/stainles steel slide over a ploymer frame, using the delayed blow back action (hk p7 and vektor cp1) staggered mec-gar mags for a 10rd capacity and SA cocked and lock carry

it's a south african design that s&w was looking at before they brought out their sigma series

I agree the Kel-Tec P-11 may be what you're looking for if you are going to use it for concealed carry & don't want to pay an extra $200-$300 for a Glock or SIG. It was designed for concealed carry (very small & lightweight) and has a long trigger pull so don't expect it's trigger to be like those, it is more like a double action revolver.

I have heard good things about the HS 2000 but I have also read that the price has gone up quite a bit since Springfield started distributing them. You may have to act quickly to get one at the $300 or so price that others have gotten.

a used glock? :D

seriously though refurbished Glocks are former LE pistols that glock fixed up (replaced anything that needs replacing and made sure the gun functions properly) and they are great deals. the refurbished Glock 17s and 19s will work as well as a new glock but are less expensive and come with 2 full-cap mags.

Schmackey, if I read your post the way I think it was intended, you're not necessarily looking to spend only $200, but that the CZ appealed to you because it was that much less than the Beretta. If that is your budget, then I think your choices are fairly limited in high-tech, contemporary engineering.

Presuming that we can leave cost aside, how about the P99? It seems to fit all your expectations - high tech, acccurate as hell, striker fired, easy lever breakdown, loaded chamber indicator, striker cocked indicator, ambidexterous mag release (one finger), more curves than Marylin Monroe (read: ergonomic) but can be DECOCKED, and fired DOUBLE ACTION.

Blades, I just KNEW I left something out. :D

Hey, you haven't heard if they'll be making the SLIDE in OD tenifer, have you? I got the Black on Black model, but that OD Green makes it look 10x cooler!!!

Rovert, sorry for the lack of clarity. I'm looking for something that's $200 less than the (good-name) competitors, just like the CZ is $200 less than the Beretta. So let's say this imaginary price is $300.

Shmackey, do check out the Ruger P95, it's got all what you seem to want and at a good price; Reliability, relatively light weight, US-made, accurate and affordable.

HS2000. Good gun. Good price. should still find for under $300... be quick though cause they are bound to go up quick now. Good luck.
