Six months ago, I tried to use this forum to find out what kind of inexpensive (less than $1000) electric clay thrower to buy. I never got any usable advice. Having had good luck with DO-ALL products in the past, I took a chance and bought a DO-ALL Aerial Assault for $450 from Sportsman's Guide. Bad news: I could never get it to throw more than 10-15 in a row without malfunction and breakage in the machine - having to stop, clear the shotgun, walk back to the thrower and clean it out. Good news: DO-ALL really did try to help and even sent free replacement parts to try to make it work AND eventually Sportsman's Guide refunded the purchase price - after I disassembled, boxed it and returned it. The spring-loaded plunger that kept the next clay from falling too soon tended to crush and break the clay it was holding even though I made every adjustment I could think of. Thus, only pieces would drop to the plate below to be launched in a shower of chunks.
Now I'm looking at a product by Champion that seems to have a different design but it only has a 50' cord for the release pedal and I am afraid of spending another two weeks and hours of trial and error only to be disappointed again.
Maybe the answer is: You have to pay $2,500 to get a good one? I'm looking for some hands-on shooter-consumer experience please. Sheriff Joe
