Inexpensive .357 revolver recommendation??

I don't own a revolver. A little over a year ago I traded off my Rossi m88 .38 special and I find myself wanting a .357 so I can also shoot .38's out of it. I'm looking for used and inexpensive, most likely on gunbroker. Can you guys rattle off some makes and models that are inexpensive? The gun won't be shot much.

Let me sum this up. I want to spend $300 or less on a used revolver. I will settle for a .38 instead of a .357. I do NOT want a " snub nose " with a 2" barrel. I want a decent length barrel, but I do not want a ridiculous barrel that resembles the s&w 29 that Clint Eastwood used in Dirty Harry. I do not want an internal hammer.

My gut response is: Ruger LCR.

With that said, it might help to know you *you* define "inexpensive." There are also models from Rossi, Charter Arms, Taurus, S&W . . .
 
I want something similar to the Rossi m88 I had. That look. I want an exposed hammer, and no short barrels. Now when I say no short barrels I don't mean that I want an inspector Callahan looking barrel. 4-5" barrel maybe?
 
My first wheel-gun, other than a hand-me-down H&R, was a Ruger Security Six. You can find one used and in good shape in the $400ish range. I got a .357, wood grips, blued, 6" barrel. The beauty is it's a Ruger revolver... which no one can argue is a very well made gun. The SA trigger pull is good, the DA is certainly not as good as a Smith but it can be improved without much money/work. The best thing is that they're built like tanks and not very finicky.
 
I can afford $400 but I don't to drop that type of cash on a used revolver. I'm looking at $300 or under. Name off some .38 specials. .357 ammo is pricey.
 
3rd nomination for the Security/Speed/Service Sixes from Ruger

I bought a nice stainless 6" Security Six for $400 a couple of years ago.

You might find a Charter Arms new for that.

Beyond that, I think you're looking at used guns.

You might can find a six series revolver for around $300. I got mine for 270 off of Gunbroker... shipping and transfer fee put me up to 320. They seem to be going for a little more these days but you might be able to find one in the 300ish range. Come to think of it, I saw a used one at Lawman's in Garner not long ago in the 300 buck range. I, personally, would be afraid of a Taurus anything unless it's their Beretta 92 clones. I have no experience with their revolvers but I have a friend who has written them off. I have had a bad experience with the 24/7 series. As for Armscor, I have had a RIA 1911 that was flawless and perfect. Very affordable and good shooting gun made by Armscor. Those Filipinos apparently know a little bit about semi-autos JMP design clones... but I don't know if this translates into good revolvers.
 
Kind of sounds like you want something you can't have, hell, all of us would like to find a quailty 38/357 at a bargin price, save your money & buy a nice used S&W or Ruger. why waste your $'s on junk. jmop
 
Msn- I've owned revolvers before including expensive ones. I just like spinning the cylinder on them and occasionally shooting one. I just want one for my gun collection pretty much. There are certain guns that a man needs in his collection and I just need a revolver to go with it. I like spinning the cylinder but at the same time I'm not going to carry it for protection.... I have that taken care of, big time. I'm a semi auto guy when it comes to handguns.
