Got this from GOA today, just wanted to pass the word along:

Dear Friend of the Second Amendment,
A true champion of the Second Amendment, Rep. John Hostettler, is facing a well-financed campaign from a wealthy anti-gun physician in Indiana's eighth congressional district.
Hostettler has aggressively sought to find legislative avenues to roll back the viciously anti-self defense Smith & Wesson agreement with the Clinton Administration.
The Clinton & Wesson agreement is a monstrous end run around the Constitution to impose much of Clinton's anti-self-defense agenda - all without Congress even having a say. Of course, Congress should be passing no such unconstitutional measures either.
Clinton's gun control agenda takes the form of an agreement between two parties, so judicial review is out of the question.
Federal tax dollars will be spent to operate an Oversight Commission 80 percent of whom will be bureaucrats. Hostettler is leading the charge to keep federal funding from operating the Commission.
The Oversight Commission will impose the terms of the agreement - vauge as they are - on all the sales of all the dealers who carry Smith & Wesson products.
The Clinton & Wesson agreement will prohibit a dealer from selling you many semi-automatic rifles and shotguns, self-defense magazines over 10 rounds and require a certificate of training before purchase is allowed. If the Oversight Commission says you have to shoot like Annie Oakley and pay an exorbitant training fee, there will be no recourse.
Moreover, the Clinton & Wesson deal will require dealers to hold on to the gun you have bought and paid for until the Clinton administration bureaucrats decide to O.K. the transfer. Currently, they cannot hold up on a sale beyond three business days. The Clinton & Wesson deal makes it possible for Clinton to stop virtually all gun sales.
In any case, you will be allowed to buy only one handgun every two weeks.
Clinton and many of the cities that have been suing manufacturers were able to bully Smith & Wesson into signing the deal. Now they are proposing to have government buy only politically correct guns, which means Smith & Wesson.
Rep. Hostettler has gotten language passed in the U.S. House of Representatives to block the Defense Department from giving preferential treatment to any firearms manufacturer. He did this as an amendment to the Department of Defense appropriations bill.
Hostettler is also seeking to block other federal agencies, including Housing and Urban Development which signed the Clinton & Wesson deal, from suing gun manufacturers.
Hostettler also has a bill to simply outlaw these anti-gun manufacturer lawsuits.
We need John Hostettler in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is one of the few pro-Second Amendment leaders in Congress.
Hostettler is an "A" rated member of Congress according to our very stringent standards here at Gun Owners of America.
This is not an easy seat for a Republican to hold.
Hostettler needs your help, just as we need him back in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Please make out your personal check and send it to: Friends of John Hostettler, P.O. Box 3676, Evansville, IN 47735. You can also contribute on his web page at http://www.hostettler.org.
However you contribute, please be sure to let the campaign know that you are contributing because of this request. On the check memo line, simply puting GOA would do fine.
The maximum contribution allowed to individuals is $1,000, but any amount you can send is going to make a difference.
Please send your contribution today.
Sincerely,
Larry Pratt
Executive Director
