Ok, folks. It's been approved by both the House and the Senate. Now all we need is Gov. Daniels to approve it. Please go here to voice your support for this bill.

This is the bill that would prohibit employers from firing an employee for legally keeping a firearm locked in their vehicle at their place of employment. It would also prevent the government from suspending such rights in times of emergency.

House Bill 1065

Communicate your support to Gov. Daniels' office here.

Let's go, Hoosiers. We're almost there!

Oh, dear - this violates private property rights. Horrors, horrors, horrors!

:D

See my past comments - I think it is great if it gets through. It should be the law of the land.

In Indiana you can fired for any reason the employer wants to use. This bill really won't change that.

Not true. Age, sex and ethnicity are still no-no's when it comes to firing someone. Also, wrongful termination legislation does exist.

Governor Daniels signed several bills yesterday, does anyone know if HB 1065 or 1068 were among them? I've been unable to find out through a quick Google search.
