Yeah I have taken this thing apart and there wasnt a plug at all.. Wish there was.. It would make my life so much easier..

First the obvious - the Mk II is a 2-3/4" gun, you are not trying to shove a 3" round in area you? The Mk II only holds three rounds total (two tube, one chambered), and trying to force another round in broke the followers on these guns. Therefore the next obvious - I bet the plastic follower broke on that Mk II (a common problem) and was replaced with a follower from another gun (I don't know if the follower was the same in the later 1400 (not exactly the same gun as a MkII) or not. I believe Numrich still has the MkII follower. Should be a simple small plastic part a couple inches or so long that the magazine tube spring fits inside of - more just a cap than shape of the more conventional and modern followers of today. The MkII is an excellent gun BTW.

After I took the gun apart I found that the previous owner had cut two slits in the magazine, figuring they were using it for skeet.. But I do realize that it only holds two in the magazine.. Unfortunately I had to hunt with just two shots, not fun with a semi... I talked to Midwest Gunworks today and he said that its going to be extremely hard to find the magazine since there were so few made... I appreciate your help with my problem...

Details

Just recently I had a spare tube offered to me, so I believe I might still be able to get that tube, if another hasn't gotten to it, yet.
I have also gotten a few of the one piece feed throats for fitting into malfunctioning Winchesters. Those took so long to locate that I seriously wonder if I'll locate any more in the future.

It is not as if the feed throat is an easily broken part, but if they go bad, you might have a tough time getting back in running condition.

Regardless, hope for the best.
