IMR Red Green Blue Discontinued?

I have read where the somewhat new powders of IMR Red, Green, and Blue to compete with the old color Dot powders from Alliant have now been discontinued by IMR. Is this true?

I just bought a pound of IMR Green this week to try in handgun ammo then reading up on it I found this out.
 
They sure did a lousy job of promoting them.
I think they want everyone to switch to Hodgdon brand powders for handguns.

That's a bummer. I originally started reloading .30-06 in the 1970s using 4320.

Then, for some reason, in the early 1980s, I couldn't get 4320 for quite awhile, not sure why, so I switched to 4064 and found that I liked it even better than 4320.

I've suck with 4064 since, using it for .30-06, .300 Savage, and .243 Win.
 
Bummer--I've got a few loads that liked 4320 as well and I think I only have a pound or two on hand.

Totally a bummer , IMR 4320 was my secret powder I used in times like we are having now . In the last panic after Sandy Hook I watched which powders stayed on the shelves longest and that I could use . IMR 4320 was one of them along with HS-6 . So I bought some of each and worked up loads in every cartridge I shoot that can use them in to include multiple bullets in each so I'd have the data . Well it looks like my 4320 data is useless now I only have one pound left and since I can't get anymore I might as well use it up :rolleyes:

Agree with Hammerhead, they did not push them very hard.
But looking at loads, I don't see where Red does anything much different from 700X, Clays, or WST. Or W231 in pistols.
 
I had to try the IMR Green as Alliant Green Dot is about my favorite all time handgun powder. No current handgun data for it as they only market it now as a shotgun powder. But old handgun data is plentiful for it.
