Improving the Mark II trigger

Well the last thread was banished, so in this one I will ask a more general question.

What trigger modifications have you performed on your Mark II. Anyone out there take a dremel to the sear, change trigger springs, etc. in order to get a lighter crisper feel?

BTW: the original post was about modifying and improving the trigger, NOT ABOUT ACCESORIES. I don't really consider a trigger an accesory on a pistol.

Hicap, you liked the stock hammer w/ the vol. sear. Did you keep the stock spring, or put in a lighter one?

Anyone w/ their own custom set-up?

In regard to the question on trigger upgrades for the Ruger MK II pistol, I recently had a Volquartzen accurizing kit put in my Government Competition model. I love it! Basically, the kit replaces the stock hammer, sear, trigger, and springs, lowering the trigger pull to a crisp 2 lbs. The overtravel screw in the new trigger is also a great feature, allowing rear trigger movement to cease after the round is fired. In addition to the accurizing kit, I also had a Clark hammer bushing, extended magazine release, power custom titanium firing pin, and power custom titanium extractor installed. I got everything done through a place in Ohio called "On-target" their internet site can be found at: HTTP://junior.apk.net/~ontarget/
I've only used them once, but they had excellent turn around time, and they install everything you buy for a small additional charge. Good luck and enjoy the Ruger as it is one of the best .22s on the market (in my opinion).

I'll put in a positive note for the Volquartsen kit. I installed it myself, and it really did make the trigger much nicer on my MK-II.

I was thinking of keeping the stock trigger and just changing the internal components in order to crispen and lighten the trigger a bit. Also, another post mentioned findng that the volquartsen sear paired w/ the stock hammer gave the bets feel.

Is anyone using their lightened mainspring and trigger spring combo?
