IMI 1917 USMC Holster

I ordered & received a "Repro" USMC 1912 Holster for my 1911-A1 pistol. The Leather was much to thick (Buffalo hide) the underside of the flap at the stud hole crudely cut away to allow the flap to close & it smelled like moth balls. Well maybe I could have overlooked all of the above but when I tried to put my pistol into the holster it would not fit!

I would like to know has anyone else out there ever got a holster from IMI and if so was it any good? Also does anyone know where I can buy a good "Repro" 1912 Holster.

Welcome to TFL, Robert. Nice to have you here.

I have never bought any holsters from IMI so I can not comment on their stuff. I suggest that you check with El Paso Saddlery, P.O. Box 27194, El Paso, TX 79926, [915]544-2233, fax [915]544-2535 http://www.epsaddlery.com to see their gear. They make some really good stuff and their workmanship is top notch. Their web site was down earlier today but check it anyway (I told 'em about it being down). Their catalog is $5.00 and worth it. They will be coming out with a new color catalog soon and are going to re-do their web site.
