Imbel StG-58's and the BATF

Alright, the recent BATF ban has me thinking. I have always wanted an FAL of some sort. Now I have a very good reason to buy one (or two or three) -- value appreciation! I notice that Century is now building some StG-58's on Imbel receveivers, does anyone know the dealer price on that? Second, is there any reason I should NOT buy one of these Imbel StG's?

Okay, color me ignorant. Which new ATF reg is this and how will it affect my plans to buy a FAL next year?

I have a Century/Imbel/Stg58. I have shot it very little, but so far so good. It has the pistol grip rather than the butthole stock.

Well, now that I've read the original post again, here's the answer. I got a brother-in-law deal from a family member in the trade, and paid $540 out the door, with 1 20-round mag. I wouldn't expect you could do so well. If you do, lemme know and I'll go rough up my brother-in-law.

Actually, you could go USA made DSA and still have a decent product. I just ordered an Imbel and a Steyer STG-58 parts kit, but again, you could go US here, for more $ (and you have to have 10 US parts any way).

I have built:
1) Brit L1A1 [Entreprise inch pattern reciver]
2) Austrailian heavy barrel [Entreprise inch pattern reciver]
3) Rhodesian [Entreprise inch pattern reciver]
4) Austrian STG-58 [Imbel metric pattern reciever]

I have also shot a number of pre '89 ban [big $] types.

I like the STG-58 & Imbel combination much better than the rest.

Thanks, I just figured out which ban was being mentioned. I am looking at DSA anyway, but this still vexes me, for obvious philosophical reasons. Well, if the Executive office changes hands, pehaps this stupid reg will go away... :(
