I am thinking about ordering on of IMA 1853 Enfields just to clean up as a wall hanger. I know they have no U.S. history but I think it would be a cool display pice. Anyone have any experance with IMA and/or their 1853 Enfields?

For a wall hanger they'd be great. They could require a lot of work to get into shooting condition. IMA is great company to deal with.

Not sure on the no US history thing as they where one of the most imported to the US rifles in the not so Civil War.

If it were a British made model you could make that argument, but not with the ones made in Nepal. As far as I know, no Nepal made rifles were imported during the U.S. Civil war.

Some of the many Henrys were but very few if any of the Enfields were. They were all made in Nepal under contract to supply the indigenous troops.
