These are some nice healthy looking deer! I can only hope to have a few walk near my stand come bow season, especially one like the larger one.

These deer seem to be rather large compared to where I used to live in west virginia. There were a lot of runts around back then. But it appearsthey are doing fine where you are.

Its the same story where i hunt in oklahoma.

the biggest dear anyone has ever shot on our lease was only 16 inches wide

I was down on the lower end towards Oceana. We werent all that far away actually.Never did see any deer like that for sure though. I dont know I geuss I was apparantly in the wrong part of the state. It would be nice to come back and hunt again someday.

Heck yeah! I only got to hunt one day last year because I got pneumonia. I killed a doe that morning, but I want some horns dadgummit! I'm due

That's a great looking rack, I hope to see you post some bragging pictures this fall!

Oh yeah I have been feeling it a lot the last week. Hoping to get a week to hunt Mulies and a week to hunt elk. I usually get three days so I am super pumped this year. I need to get my feet in shape!

Nice deer. I have the fever and can't til whitetail season. Plus my freezer has been empty for a while and I can taste that deer meat now. This year I am stocking it up more with fine tasting deer meat......:)

if that's a 3 year old let him be.....he looks to be a future big boy in 2 or so years.
with that said,it is hard to pass something that big and healthy up.

decision....decision....hummmmm

Around here if you see something like that you better damn well get him, otherwise the poachers will. We have spotlighters down here bad.

I know what you mean. I grew up in both Webster and Greenbrier counties and I thought spikes and forkhorns were the norm. Six pointers were big and eights were huge.

It did seem like they were a little bigger and more plentiful in the more southern counties where there was a lot of farming.

However, I've long since moved up to bigger and better things. I'm taking off in about three weeks to go moose hunting in the Talkeetna mountains. When I get back it'll be brown bear season on the AKPEN and I've even managed to hitch a ride out to one of the nearby islands to knock over a wild beef cow. :p:D

Not mention that I've discovered a wolverine den that's on my target list for trapping.
