I'm looking at the WOOD round to square butt conversion

for S&W K frames.

There's a youtube showing how to get it out of the BOX but nothing on how to install.
It ...LOOKS.... like they are not split with a screw to hold them on but with some sort of clampy single bottom screw.

Has anyone used these grips and has something nice to say about them?

I may get the rubber conversions as they are way cheaper but like the feel of wood better.

The 'U' bracket uses the locater pin on the grip frame. One then slides the mono grip up the frame and uses the provided screw to attach the grip to the 'U' bracket. Some revolvers need a shorter pin which Hogue generally provides.
I use these grips on a few revolvers and they are an improvement over the round rubber grips. Also, they reduce for me the LOP length of pull a bit, by not covering the back strap.

I tried to get some Altamont grips some time back in an oil finished wood, but all they offer is that "stabilized wood".

I think Eagle Grips still offers oil finished wood grips.

+1 on Altamont. Nice looking wood grips, fast shipping and reasonable prices. I have a pair on my Taurus snubbie.

Ahrends round to square conversion grips

My Ahrends Retro Target round to square conversion stocks on my 686. They are a matte finished Cocobolo.

Please excuse the background, I am not much of a photographer.
