Well I just field strippped my new Ruger P89DC for the first time today and I was so impressed on how easy it was I did it 3 more times just for fun......wow.
Now I like my Hi-Points but being able to field stip your weapon without any hammer or punch is a big plus IMHO.
Oh, by the way first day home yesterday put 400 rnds of Winchester white box and Winchester JHP all 115gr and not one FTF or FTE.
I am quiet pleased with my purchase.
Thanks guys for your help
Tony

Now to order some of them new goodies....................

Tony:
That is one of the reasons I bought a Ruger KP90 instead of one of the "more like 1911A1 models". I like being able to strip my weapon down in less than 30 seconds, without tools.

Tony, Rugers are great pistols for the money. If you like pistols that can be stripped in 30 seconds, I suggest you get a Glock. How's 5 SECONDS???!!

My P89DC is around 12 years old now, and has had a few thousand rounds through it. Aside from a bit of blueing wear, you can't tell the difference between it and a new gun. The best part, of course, is that it came with 2 15-round mags. :D

Now that I'm getting some instruction on marksmanship, I can say that the gun is surprisingly accurate, as well. Never tried it in a machine rest, but I can put 'em in a nice tight group offhand at 15yds.

Whatever elitist impulse made Bill Ruger support the hi-cap ban, you can't take away the fact the his guns are reliable, durable and inexpensive.

For pure field stripping speed, it is hard to beat a P.38/P1.

But I have never chosen a using pistol for its speed in disassembly. I somehow doubt that a street punk is going to challenge me to a pistol stripping contest. ("All right, copper, it's just you and me! I bet I can disassemble my Raven before you can disassemble your Beretta!")
