now i need a good holster for it
seems that it is small enough for pocket carry...but its only 1 oz. lighter than my HK USP 45 Compact. i wonder how comfortable that is...? anyone?

also, what are good loads/rounds for the 40cal?

Out of all the .40 JHPs I've put through my Steyr M40 I like the 165gr Spear Gold Dots the best (although the Federal HydraShoks come in a close second and I have not tried any ProLoad, which I keep hearing is the shiznit)

I'd stay away from Corbon 135gr JHPs. They where dirty, flashed worse then anything else and where about as accurate as the cheap russian FMJs I used to get for practice.

As for weight, I prefer the 165gr. I like the extra velocity of most 165s over most 185gr but I find most 135gr are just too harsh (especialy those damn Corbons).

But YMMV

I'm saving my pennies for an MK40 and plan on carrying it in my Action Direct Defender (belly band). I carry my Steyr M40 in it now and can get away with shorts and a (dark) t-shirt. I can wear the Steyr all day and almost forget its there its so comfortable (this is partialy because the Steyr is so smooth ... my Makarov is smaller and lighter but pokes me all day).

I have a K40 and shoot an MK once in a while. Holsters are plentiful for the Kahrs...whatever you want, you should be able to find. Pocket holsters are good for the MK.....

Ammo is plentiful also. The 3" barrel likes lighter rounds....135 gr hot loads, 155 or 165 gr JHP's ......see whats reasonable in your area and try it out.

I shot 155 Federal Classics last Sunday....HELLO! This is a basic JHP and proceeded to blow things apart better than 165 gr Gold Dots and 180 gr Talons.....my new Carry round.

Shoot well
